Donald Trump Slams Ted Cruz For Not Helping Carly Fiorina After She Fell Offstage

Donald Trump is rallying in Indiana while hoping to deal a near-fatal blow to Ted Cruz on election Tuesday. Of course, Trump can’t let the chips fall — although they will surely land in his favor — for he simply must add drama. The real estate mogul spent the morning telling Fox and Friends about an Enquirer story, which alleges that Cruz’s father had close ties to Lee Harvey Oswald before he assassinated John F. Kennedy. Cruz retaliated in his own way while calling Trump a “narcissist” just like Barack Obama.

Alas, Trump had already moved onto a Carmel rally to sway a few more voters, so he probably never heard the Texas senator’s comments. Instead, Trump zeroed in on his next tactic, which was to lambast Cruz for not batting an eye after his presumptive running mate, Carly Fiorina, fell offstage on Sunday. Ted clearly looked over where Fiorina landed and did not help, and Trump seized the moment to slam his rival:

“By the way, she fell off the stage. Did anybody see that? And Cruz didn’t do anything. Even I would’ve helped her, OK? … Wow, that’s really cruel. She just went down. She went down a long way, right? And she went down right in front of him and he just kept talking. That was a weird deal.”

Well, there’s no possible way for Cruz to defend himself in this incident, right? He may yet try. Seriously, though, Cruz could have earned some major points by helping Fiorina back onstage instead of grabbing some more hands. Others rushed to her aid, and still, he did not seem to care. Harsh.

If you missed the political metaphor heard round the United States yesterday, here’s that video again.
