Over the past two years, the Washington Wizards have emerged as one of the top competitors in the Eastern Conference. A major reason for D.C.’s on-court rise is due to the ever-growing game of John Wall. The 2015 Eastern All-Star starter is equipped with talent that can make your head spin, especially in the open court. We got to witness his unbelievable quickness, vision, and passing skills all in one fast break play in the third quarter against the visiting Orlando Magic on Monday.
Marcin Gortat picked up the loose ball off a Magic turnover a quickly threw the outlet pass to Wall. In a matter of only two dribbles, the crafty point guard was already in position to set up his teammate for an easy bucket. Wall added a bit of flair to this already pretty sequence by throwing a behind-the-back assist with his left hand to Nene for the powerful, one-handed smash.
Wall missed a floater with under a minute remaining in the game, leaving him one-point shy of a triple-double. The 2010 number one draft pick struggled from the field (3-10) on Monday night, but his 10 assists and 10 rebounds helped the Wizards maintain control of the game throughout the evening and earn the 96-80 win against the struggling Magic.
