Earlier today, we talked about how J.R. Smith could be an x-factor in this series, and he was already making his presence felt in the first half of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. With LeBron James in foul trouble early, the Cavs quickly fell behind to the Hawks. That’s when Smith shot them right back into the game with a few ill-advised three-pointers that have become his specialty over the years.
Smith is 3-of-4 from downtown and has 11 points, while LeBron leads the way for Cleveland with 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Jeff Teague is the high scorer for Atlanta with 17 points. The game is tied 51-51 at the half.
