Kobe Bryant‘s season-long farewell tour will add a new element Sunday afternoon when the Lakers host the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center: commemorative socks. Here’s more from the press release from Stance, the official sock of the NBA:
The first of the socks, called ‘The Final,’ is purple/gold/white/black and is adorned with the number TWO on the right sock and FOUR on the left. This style is built on Stance’s performance basketball block—with superior breathability, moisture management and targeted cushioning—and will be worn on-court by the Lakers this coming Sunday, March 6, when they face off with the Golden State Warriors at the Staples Center.
“The Final” is one of three new pairs of limited edition socks Stance is debuting. The second, the “K. Byrant,” features Kobe from two different eras on either sock. One sock is a throwback to early 2000s-era Kobe, and features a cartoon image of Bryant wearing No. 8 with his classic Kobe-fro. The other sock features a more contemporary-looking, shaved-head, Black-Mamba-era Kobe with the No. 24 jersey.
The third style, dubbed “Kobe Faces,” features images of Kobe in the Lakers’ purple, black, and gold coloring with the words “Hero” and “Villain” written in Mandarin on each sock.
