The University Of Akron Is Honoring LeBron James With A Bobblehead

If you’re a Cleveland Cavaliers fan with nothing to do on March 1 and you would like to own a LeBron James bobblehead, we have good news – you can go to a basketball game and get your hands on a bobblehead for the best basketball player in the history of Northern Ohio.

Of course, if you look at the Cavs’ schedule, you will see that the team doesn’t play on March 1. In fact, that’s right in the middle of a three-day stretch where the team is off, so if you want one of these, you won’t be heading to Quicken Loans Arena.

Instead, you’ll want to be at the game hosted by the Akron Zips. The team is doing a three-part bobblehead series, and during its home game against the Ohio Bobcats, it will honor King James by giving away bobbleheads that feature him in a Zips jersey.

While this seems a bit unusual on the surface, James does have ties to the university. Most notably, his foundation teamed up with the school for a program that is expected to send 2,300 children in the Akron area to college a few years down the road.

Plus, as the team tweeted out after this promotion was announced, James is, above everything else, a son of Akron.
