The NBA All-Star Game is fun and all, but as far as All-Star Weekend activities go, nothing beats the Dunk Contest for pure fun. Zach LaVine wowed everyone to take home last year’s prize, and he’ll reportedly return to defend his trophy against Andre Drummond, Aaron Gordon and Will Barton. This should be a good one.
Drummond is the requisite big-man candidate in the affair like Miles Plumlee was last season, and he should bring the thunder. Aaron Gordon is still incredibly raw offensively for the Magic, but he’s shown promise as a versatile defender and he can clearly fly.
For our money though, the contest will probably come down between LaVine, who hasn’t slowed down on his dunking whatsoever, and Will “The Thrill” Barton, who has the perfect combination of athleticism and audacity to create magic on the court:

Of course, winning a dunk contest is about more than the ability to jump high; you need creativity to look good when you’re not dunking on people. But we trust that Barton will come with some ideas. He’ll need them to beat this insanity:
The Dunk Contest will close out All-Star Saturday on February 13, and you better get your popcorn ready.
