Paul George may be an Indiana Pacer, and Reggie Jackson may be a Detroit Piston, but the two are still friends who intended to rent a place south of Los Angeles while they worked out this offseason. George found a place he liked, but Jackson thought it was a bit too rich for his blood. This could have led to an awkward situation between the two, but George had a surprise up his sleeve.

“He hit me up and was like, ‘Yeah, let’s get this spot,’ ” Jackson recently told the Detroit Free Press.

“I was like, ‘Nah, we ain’t renting this.’ Next thing I know, he is, ‘This is where we staying. I’m not renting that; I bought it.’ I was like, ‘I’m not paying rent on that one,’ but he said, ‘Nah, man, you good.’ He was like, ‘Just come stay with me.’ ”

Despite George’s generous offer, Jackson did not just simply take advantage of his generosity. He paid for a private chef for when George was in town. “That’s my man, so I ain’t going to let him eat all the costs,” Jackson explained.

First we found out George bought 5,000 tickets to Tamika Catchings’ last Indiana Fever regular season game. Now he’s letting Reggie Jackson stay with him in his new house all summer. PG-13 is no Ebenezer Scrooge.
