Portland has a bit of a reputation for being one of the more “alternative” cities in the country, but even if Portland is the Hipster capital of the world, you would be hard-pressed to find more than a few people who haven’t heard the Taylor Swift classic “Blank Space” ten thousand times.
However, the Portland Trail Blazers are apparently immune to the sounds of T-Swift, as almost none of them were able to figure out “Blank Space” was the song being played in a game of “Name That Tune” that aired on the Moda Center scoreboard during Game 3 of the Blazers’ opening round series against the Clippers.
The video included several hilarious moments including:
- Meyers Leonard trying to sing and completely botching the lyrics
- Damian Lillard calling it “Blank Room”
- Gerald Henderson mistakenly guessing the song was sung by Swift’s blood rival, Katy Perry
- Chris Kaman, being the delightful weirdo he is, immediately saying how much he hates Taylor Swift once he puts his headphones on
In the end, C.J. McCollum and Pat Connaughton were the only two who were able to guess right without any mistakes. I assume they all would have done much better if it was a Sleater-Kinney song or something.
