There are few big men better able to stay with guards off the dribble than Al Horford. But that doesn’t mean the All-Star can come close to containing John Wall one-on-one. Watch the Washington Wizards point guard shake Horford on the wing and finish around several defenders with an acrobatic lefty reverse in his team’s 105-96 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
But Wall’s brilliant 24-point (9-15 FGs), seven-board, nine-dime performance wasn’t enough to overcome the Hawks and their five Eastern Conference Players of the Month. Jeff Teague had 26 points and eight assists for Atlanta, while Horford owned the interior with 21 points and 13 rebounds of his own.
Washington made it a game in the third quarter, but the Hawks’ relentlessly balanced attack ruled the day again. Atlanta’s new winning streak is at one game.
