With rumors of one Kardashian baby, and the confirmation of another, the famous family’s baby season is officially underway now that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s second daughter has been born, via a surrogate mother. TMZ broke the news that Kim and Kanye’s baby arrived on Monday, coming in at a healthy 7lbs 6oz.
Kim confirmed the long-held rumor of the couple using a surrogate back in September, and since then it has been a waiting game to see just when the couple’s third child would be born. The new baby girl joins the growing West family that includes 4-year-old North and 2-year-old Saint.
The West family recently sold their massive Bel-Air home for almost twice what they originally paid, apparently looking for new digs for the growing family, and coincidentally just as Jay-Z and Beyonce were looking to move into the neighborhood.
According to TMZ, Kim chose to use a surrogate for her third child because she suffers from placenta accreta, a life-threatening condition that created serious complications during the birth of her second child, Saint.”
Kim officially confirmed the birth of the baby girl on her website, saying, “She’s here!” along with a short message about the baby’s birth. “We’re so in love.”
“Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl,” she said on her website. “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”
