Penning a proverbial love letter to New York City, Manhattan native Alicia Keys performed a free concert in Times Square on Sunday night. The 35-year-old icon heavily teased the performance on social media leading up to it, posting a slew of videos to her 24 million Twitter followers expressing her own excitement for the impending show.

And not surprisingly, the living legend that is Keys absolutely slayed. Dominating the stage “in the center of [the] city,” Keys certainly ensured the concert lived up to her self prescribed hype by bringing out another pretty well known New York local.
Brooklyn native turned mogul, Jay Z joined Keys onstage to perform, “Empire State of Mind” and the lucky crowd could not handle it.

As the evening’s performance coincided with what has been deemed “the pettiest Presidential debate ever,” Keys took a moment to address a certain Republican candidate “whose name rhymes with scum.” Not one to shy away from the political, in response to Donald Trump’s recently leaked video describing sexual assault, Keys flashes him the bird with her audience eagerly following suit.

This already performance comes at the heels of her newly released single, “Blended Family” which will be part of her upcoming sixth studio album, Here, that will be released on November 4.
