AC/DC has made it official with Axl Rose as their front man, posting a message on their official Facebook page confirming the news. They thanked Brian Johnson for his tenure on stage and supported his decision to “save his hearing” and follow doctor’s orders to stop touring. Rose will step in with the group for the 12 scheduled dates of their current European tour, rejoining Guns N’ Roses for their reunion tour later this summer. The band will also bring Rose back for a series of shows in North America that were canceled after Johnson received his diagnosis.
Now for folks wondering what this version of AC/DC will sound like, there wasn’t much of a delay in getting a taste. Angus Young joined Guns N’ Roses for the first of their headlining shows at Coachella on Saturday night, busting out the classic “Whole Lotta Rosie” for the audience.

You can see Rose is still tied to his throne on stage due to his injured foot, but he still manages to show that he’s a good choice to step in for Johnson on the tour. They have that similar style of voice and all, like a strangled cat with a smoking habit.
Guns N’ Roses is getting high marks for their reunion to this point. They have the benefit of a well known catalogue of songs for people to enjoy, but Rose seems to be in great form and hasn’t attempted to run away from the tour yet.
