It’s been six years since MTV said “nah, we’re good” to more episodes of TRL, and even longer since anyone cared about Carson Daly’s old stomping grounds. I watched the show religiously as a pre-teen, because I was desperately lonely and hey, that Britney Spears, she’s not unattractive. So it’s fun to look at the videos that were “retired” in the show’s waning days — who knew THE YOUTH liked New Found Glory’s “All Downhill from Here” so much? Anyway, it’s time to set your Nostalagia Machines to *Screaming* because TRL‘s coming back, baby. For one day, at least.
For one day only, Ariana Grande is bringing back the iconic MTV show with Total Ariana Live, hosted by MTV News’ Sway Calloway. On Wednesday, July 2, at 7 p.m., Ariana will bring her fans closer than ever with a stripped down version of her #1 hit “Problem.” She’ll also debut her new single, “Break Free,” as well as make a surprise announcement.
