As far as album hype cycles go, you can do a lot worse than having the whole world talking about a bout of group sex you were involved in. That’s the situation A$AP Rocky found himself at SXSW this year after word got out that he’d participated in an extracurricular Austin orgy or two.
In an interview with Noisey, A$AP Rocky talked about the incident and gave his tips for orgy novices. Rocky said that an orgy is a thing that “just happens, you know?” before urging people not to try and force one to break out.
“I think it’s just an environment for the people that have that energy. You can’t really force something like that; it’s magic I guess—it has to happen naturally. If it happens, it happens. I don’t know what man actually looks forward to group sex. That’s not something’ that we look forward, but if you’re brothers in a house full of chicks, and if the energy is right, things go down. I know you get what I’m saying. I don’t wake up thinking about orgies.”
Rocky also opened up on the legacy of his late friend and resident A$AP Mob tastemaker, A$AP Yams.
I owe my life to Yams, to my best friend. He’s my number one supporter, and in the beginning he helped me get to places I’d never imagine. He was always on board with my vision and willing and ready to help me execute my plans and strategies. We created these blueprints to figure how to successfully be us. At the same time, just get our shit out there without compromising who we are.”
