Hip-hop is moving as quickly as ever. Luckily, we’re doing the work to compile the best music of the past week and highlight them in one space for you. There wasn’t an onslaught of new singles like in previous weeks, but there was still plenty of great music to listen to. Besides Bas and J.I.D collaborating on “Fried Rice,” Valee dropping a surprise EP, and Future releasing the first single from his Save Me project, there was also a powerful video for Meek Mill’s “Oodles and Noodles Babies” and a Megan Thee Stallion freestyle. Here’s the best of the rest:
GoldLink Feat. Tyler The Creator & Jay Prince, “U Say”
In the same week that Tyler The Creator announced a nationwide IGOR tour with GoldLink and Jaden Smith, GoldLink dropped “U Say,” with Tyler and Jay Prince. True to the vibe of Goldlink’s previous Diapora single “Zulu Screams”, “U Say” is another smooth, summer-ready track with Afrobeats-inspired percussion.
Black Eyed Peas Feat. Snoop Dogg, “Be Nice”
A pair of rap veteran rap acts connect on “Be Nice,” a cheerful collaboration where the Black Eyed Peas and Snoop Dogg surmise that we “should fight for each other, not one another” over a harmonious, dancefloor-ready soundscape.
Wale, “Daylight”
By the looks of “Daylight’s” song art, it looks like Wale’s next album is done and he’s ready to drop it this summer. But before then, he released a jazzy loosie called “Daylight.” Wale sounds locked in over a smooth Thelonius Martin production, surmising that, “I’ve come to grips that you’ve n—-s slept on my recent efforts.”
Kembe X Feat. Jay Rock, Ab-Soul & Zacari, “Raised A Fool”
Chicago rapper Kembe X has stirred interest before about him possibly signing to TDE. His recent collaboration with a trio of TDE artists on the soulful “Raised A Fool” may further stoke anticipation for big moves in Kembe’s future.
SOB x RBE, “Rich”
SOB x RBE furthered their rise with April’s project. Now they’re looking to further ascend with the affirming “Rich,” a melodic slapper where the crew gets loose and threaten to “pull up on your block with that show stopper.” Hopefully, for everyone’s sake, they’re only pulling up for shows from now on.
Q Da Fool, “Taylor”
DMV rapper Q Da Fool proclaims “I don’t believe in no luck, I been on my grind, been f*ckin sh*t up” on the hypnotic “Taylor,” which are words to live by for anyone sitting around waiting for magic to happen for them.
Madeintyo, “Look At The Kid”
Madeintyo decided to break his relative silence with “Look At The Kid,” a freestyle over Lil Gotiti and Lil Keed’s “Runnin Bands.” He lets us in on what he’s been up to these days, with braggadocious, sing-songy rhymes about taking his girl to the beach and otherwise living the life of an up and coming rap star.
Polo G Feat. Lil Baby & Gunna, “Pop Out Again”
Chicago’s Polo G collaborated with rap’s splash brothers on “Pop Out Again,” a gruff standout from his Die A Legend album which shows the three talking tough over a piano-driven instrumental. The original track featured Lil TJay, but Lil Baby and Gunna bring a different dynamic to the song.
Key Glock, “Spazzin Out”

Memphis rapper Key Glock tried to make the most out of a bad situation in the video of “Spazzin Out,” which starts with news footage covering his May arrest on guns and drug charges in Miami. He then kicks into the defiant “Spazzin Out,” rhyming about how good life is for him despite the legal woes.
Channel Tres, “Sexy Black Timberlake”

Compton artist Channel Tres recently announced the Black Moses EP, his sophomore project that will be out on August 2. Along with the EP announcement came “Sexy Black Timberlake,” a fun, carefree track which showed the versatile artist acting “a damn fool” over a sleek, uptempo production.
