When Beyonce released “Formation” seemingly out of nowhere back in February and announced a worldwide tour shortly thereafter during the Super Bowl, it was apparent a new Yonce album was imminent. When it would actually drop was anybody’s guess, and since Bey started the “surprise album” trend back in 2013, there really was no point in speculating. But here we are, a few months later with the tour just around the corner. Internet sleuths are back at it and, putting two and two together, maybe, just maybe, figuring out that the new Beyonce album will arrive soon. Like really soon.
The good folks at Jezebel are hot on the album’s trail, mining for elusive nuggets of information. Tuesday they surmised the album would definitely arrive in April, at least before the tour kicks off on April 27th in Miami. Wednesday morning, seemingly randomly or by accident, a press release for the tour was resent to various media outlets, including Uproxx. Then Jezebel did some more digging and found something especially peculiar: Beyonce’s iTunes page shut down briefly this afternoon, and now her Vevo account has 13 unlisted videos.
Yes, if you add the numbers up from each category you get 130, even though the account only lists 117 videos. Hmm.
This is similar to the unveiling of Kendrick Lamar’s latest album untitled unmastered., wherein the contently was suddenly uploaded for fans without notice, and within hours it was available to the public.
So yes, #BeyHive, it’s almost time for Yonce’s return.
