This father is certainly deserving of a “#1 Dad” shirt after this stunt, because experiencing a live Bruce Springsteen performance is something many people have experienced in their life. But now, some of those people have families that they want to share that experience with. One cool dad, Patrick A. Pipino, brought his two daughters to Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s Albany performance on Monday night. As many Bruce shows do, the concert ran a bit late, which was no good for the two girls — especially on a school night. This caused the girls to be tardy for their Tuesday morning classes, so Pipino did what any cool dad would do. He blamed the tardiness on The Boss.

Pipino wrote a letter for his daughter Isabelle’s tardiness, saying that she and her sister were lucky enough to see Bruce Springsteen in concert the night before and “darned if he didn’t play for three and a half hours.” The excuse letter could get Pipino in a bit of hot water with his wife, who works in the same school district. Pipino, a Ben and Jerry’s franchise owner, posted the letter to his Facebook page with the caption, “The odds of me being divorced by 5 p.m. are 50/50. Any takers for a fat, over the hill, buck toothed, failed comedian? Ice cream included.”
