Premiere: Philadelphia’s Caracara Examines The Processes Of Catharsis On The Emotional ‘Revelatory’

It wasn’t until Caracara’s four members watched their respective former bands implode that the Philadelphia indie rockers decided to come together to form a band. The new group is preparing to release their as-yet-untitled debut album in the later months of 2017, but they are ready to give audiences a taste of their fresh sound. The first single of the upcoming debut, which we are happy to be premiering below, is “Revelatory,” a dreamy, introspective look inside the heads of the band that morphs the internal into the external and the personal into the universal.

Rather than write songs with a focus primarily on the autobiographical, with the upcoming LP, Caracara aims to explore and examine the processes of catharsis. This goal is evident on “Revelatory,” which clocks in at under three minutes, but still manages to supplement a breakdown to near silence with a rising build, culminating in a moving, emotional climax that features prominent heavy guitars and a subtle synth lead. Check out “Revelatory” below.

While Caracara does not yet have any touring planned in support of the new LP, they will appear at Philadelphia DIY venue Trash House on May 19th to serve in an opening slot for Slaughter Beach, Dog, the solo project of Modern Baseball frontman Jake Ewald.
