It’s been a little over two months since the always excellent Cayetana revealed that they’re releasing an album on their newly formed record label Plum Records. And while we’ve received a few tastes of the album in “Mesa,” “Bus Ticket” and “Certain For Miles.” But that hasn’t made the wait for the full-length any easier. Luckily, it’s finally over and we can all stream New Kind of Normal right now via Hype Machine.

The album is heavier than you might expect from the Philly pop-punkers and with good reason. The band revealed that the album is about the constant struggles of mental health issues and learning to accept the titular new kind of normal.

“It’s about mental health,” they said, “Struggling with that and settling into a new kind of normal where you can finally recognize your own your destructive behaviors and accept love into your life.”

The album is out this Friday, but fans can get a few good streams in before that up top. And while you’re listening, why not take in a few more of the female-fronted punk bands who are dominating rock in 2017?

New Kind of Normal is out on May 5 via Plum Records. Pre-order it here.
