Corey Feldman is out here trying to be the best Corey Feldman he can be. The star of The Goonies, The Lost Boys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Stand By Me — not to mention more recent fare like National Lampoon’s Last Resort, Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, Lost Boys: The Thirst, and Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (I could do this for a while) — is also an accomplished singer, in that he accomplished getting booked on Today. You may have heard about it.
After his iconic performance of “Go 4 It” went viral, though, Feldman uploaded (then deleted) a sobbing video to Facebook about the internet’s oh-my-god-what-is-this reaction to the clip. “We just wanted to tell everybody that, like, it’s been really painful,” he said. “We put ourselves out there and we did the best that we could. And, like, I’ve never had such mean things said about me. Like constantly.” He later added, “You don’t have to beat us up.”
Today, Feldman dropped by The Talk, where, after receiving a standing ovation from the audience, he opened up about his Today appearance. “I wanted people to see the real emotion I was feeling,” he said. “I wanted people to see, I am not fake, I am a real person and this affects me. I am made of flesh and blood and emotion.” Feldman then asserted, “Art is subjective, not everyone is going to like what I do, and for those who don’t, they’ve got Bon Jovi.” Is he slamming Bon Jovi? If so, isn’t that a weird thing to do when he’s defending a musician’s right to showcase himself/herself however they want? Or are his references, like his mind, just stuck in the 1980s?
Anyway, Feldman confirmed that Today asked him and his Angels back for an encore performance, proving anything’s possible. Except The Goonies 2.
.@Corey_Feldman can't win when it comes to Corey Haim's memory. Looking forward to the @TODAYshow encore though. pic.twitter.com/KFp68PbilY
