Dave Grohl is an elder statesman of rock n’ roll at this point, with nearly 30 years of recording to his name. Foo Fighters just finished up their eighth studio album, Sonic Highways, which was a love letter to the history of American Music. And now since that’s wrapped, Grohl has moved on to another passion project uniting every punk, hardcore and metal hero of his (and we mean nearly every one) in a supergroup called Teenage Time Killers.
Originally conceived by Corrosion of Conformity’s Reed Mullin, the band boasts rock royalty such as Grohl and Pat Smear from Foo Fighters, Nick Oliveri from Queens Of The Stone Age, Corey Taylor from Slipknot, Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio, Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys, and Lee Ving from Fear (and the movie Clue) just to name a few. Their debut track, “Hung Out To Dry,” is a thrash metal jam with Randy Blythe from Lamb of God on vocals and Dave Grohl on bass. Their ambitious 20-track album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, will be released July 31 on Rise Records. That’s plenty of time to cherish still having your hearing at 100%.
