Drake is no stranger to popping up on college campuses. He caused pandemonium at Howard late last year, played ball with the Wildcats at Kentucky in 2014, and even attended a Pepperdine basketball game to support of friend earlier this year. But it’s crazy to think Papi has never visited Drake University. His name is Drake. The university is Drake University. Does it really need an explanation? All that changed Tuesday night, however, when the top rapper fulfilled his grand destiny and finally visited the Des Moines, Iowa school.
Students at the university had been lobbying to get Drizzy to their school for years with #BringDrakeToDrake, but the campaign really picked up steam in May, when the 29-year-old 6 Gawd announced his Summer Sixteen tour with Future was stopping in Des Moines. Fast forward to Tuesday and Drake is in town for his concert. Naturally, students assumed Drake was going to make an appearance.
If you haven't heard, Drake the rapper did not visit campus today. But, our students still had a great day. #BringDraketoDrake lives on. pic.twitter.com/gU1fZnGvaM

After rocking his sold out show, Drake stopped by the university campus in the middle of the night while everyone was fast asleep. “Look! Kappa Kappa Gamma, I’m outside your sorority house now and you’re all sleep,” Drake declared in a video posted on Instagram. “And you’re all sleep.” He also went over to another sorority where results were the same. “Kappa Alpha Theta we out here waiting on you. We waiting on you!” So sneaky.
Maybe next time students can do #BringDrakeToDrakeAtAReasonableHourAndNotWhenWereAllAsleep and close that loophole.
