Nothing in the world was going to top Christina Aguilera’s incredible Britney Spears impression, no matter how hard anyone tried, so Ed Sheeran’s going to have to settle for second place. That’s definitely not a knock against Taylor Swift’s platonic BFF and the Grammy-nominated star, because his cover of Aguilera’s “Dirrty” from BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge is hot fire. I’m still partial to Sam Smith’s cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” but that’s only because that song is my “Desperado.” Time stops for me to jam out and sing along.
As for Sheeran, I’m currently working on a theory that he and Chris Pratt are estranged brothers. I hope to submit my case to the Pulitzer committee by June.
