The unslayable PBS concert series Austin City Limits embarks on the second half of its 41st season in 2016 with the combo of Grammy nom magnets Alabama Shakes and L.A. R&B-rock notables Vintage Trouble splitting the welcome back bill. To amp up the anticipation just a scooch more, some preview clips of this Saturday’s show have bubbled up online featuring Alabama Shakes handling some tunes with might and moxie.
Two cuts from the band’s soon-to-be broadcast set plus a bonus clip have arrived to grab you by the throat and remind you to set your DVR. Watch in awe as Brittany Howard & Co. unleash blistering renditions of “I Don’t Wanna Fight,” “Gimme All Your Love” and the web exclusive blast of “Gemini.” We’re not 100% sure where ACL performances rate for those scared of spoilers, but you can see what’s on the setlist if you check out the Austin City Limits website. If the offerings seem a bit Sound & Color heavy, that’s because they are.
In addition to Alabama Shakes and Vintage Trouble popping up on this weekend’s show, there’s loads more star power on the way from the series. To Pimp a Butterfly marvel Kendrick Lamar will be appearing in the following week’s episode with sets from Ryan Adams and Angelique Kidjo tapped to air before January 2016 comes to a close.
