It’s impossible to cover each bit of new music that comes out during the week, so every Friday, we’ll be doing an end of the week music roundup. It’s called Final Track, and we’ll count off a few songs released during the week that are worth giving a listen to. (Banner via Getty Image)
Today, we’ve got selections from Cut Copy, Ab-Soul, Mr. Dream, and more.
Free Your Mind by Cut Copy
Arcade Fire isn’t the only band with a new album you can listen to before its official release. There’s also Cut Copy’s Free Your Mind, which you can hear for free above. It’s very dance-y and very Australian.
“Dub Sac” by Ab-Soul
For more, check out the Smoking Section.
“Fringy Slider” by Mr. Dream
The noisy commotion that we’ve come to expect from Mr. Dream is still there on “Fringy Slider,” but it’s far more dance-punk than anything they’ve released before. Not a bad thing.
“Down with You” by White Lung
White Lung continues to be the best at making thrillingly melodic punk with “Down with You.”
“Love Jones” by Wayward
“Love Jones” sounds exactly like you’d expect a song titled “Love Jones” to: sexy, sleek, and slow. And sexy.
“Wrecking Ball” by Angel Haze
I’m not even a Miley hater, but Angel Haze’s stripped down “Wrecking Ball” >>> Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball.”
“Y.A.L.A.” by M.I.A.
We’ve heard the preview; now listen to the whole thing. Or don’t. You’ll have time enough to get around it eventually. You always live again.
