After few months of teasing, the Newport Folk Festival has finally released its full 2017 lineup, and Fleet Foxes and Wilco sit on top of the roster. Also coming to the famed event? Regina Spektor, The Avett Brothers, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Offa Rex, the new collaboration between The Decemberists and Olivia Chaney.
And there’s more. They’ve got John Prine, Dr. Dog, Drive-By Truckers, Billy Bragg and Joe Henry, Angel Olsen, Rhiannon Giddens, Hurray For the Riff Raff, Shovels & Rope, Margaret Glaspy, Whitney and Chicano Batman. Oh, and comedic couple Nick Offerman (a.k.a. Ron) and Megan Mullally, who will be performing with her band Nancy and Beth.
So, if you plan on going, you might be too late. Early bird tickets sold out the event before the lineup was even announced. Of course, you can always sit outside the festival in hopes that you’ll get lucky. Or you could check out Lyte’s ticket exchange. The whole thing takes place July 28 to 30 at Fort Adams Park in Newport, Rhode Island.
Check out the full lineup on the Newport Folk Festival’s website, and make sure to pack your raincoat if you head that way — it can get windy and wet over there.
