On May 12, punk duo Girlpool will release their highly anticipated sophomore album Powerplant. The LA-based band, co-fronted by Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker, have already shared the video for “123,” the lead single off the upcoming album. Today, the two have released the video for the next single “It Gets More Blue,” which you can watch above.
The video, conceptualized by Tividad and shot and directed by Amalia Irons, tells the timeless story of a couple on the cusp of an unknown destiny. Featuring Tividad and Tucker as the couple torn apart by the sea and a mysterious tarot card reading, the artistic short film of sorts takes you on emotional ride through memories, time, and the past. Girlpool’s signature indie harmonies are evident on “It Gets More Blue,” giving the story a more contentious, yet united and raw feel.
