Hatebeak, The Metal Band Fronted By A Parrot, Is Back With A New Album

From the bowels of hell (it looks like a warehouse filled with unsold copies of Paulie on VHS) comes Hatebeak, the world’s only (?) metal band fronted by a parrot. The death-core group formed in Baltimore in 2003, when Blake Harrison and Mark Sloan teamed up with a 21-year-old parrot named Waldo and made music history, or something. They released a handful of EPs between 2004 and 2007, all of which have been collected on Reptilian Records’ upcoming Number of the Beak, which also includes six never-released songs. Have a listen:

The record is out June 1. As for the fate of Waldo, well, as of March, he was scratching music reviews for Decibel, so he hasn’t gone the way of a Monty Python sketch yet.
