A week after E! News reported that Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff and Girls creator Lena Dunham had parted ways, Antonoff took to Twitter to address rumors that he was now dating Lorde, whom he spent a lot of time with over the course of two years while crafting Lorde’s sophomore album Melodrama.

normally i would never address rumors but i resent having the most important friendships and working relationships in my life reduced to dumb hetero normative gossip. those relationships are deeply important and sacred. with that said, im not seeing anyone. lol.
The rumors arose after the original E! News report on the breakup was edited to omit a section that, according to Spin, claiming that “his new love is a musician.” At the time, many jumped to conclusions and publicly claimed that this edit was to cover up the fact that Antonoff might have gotten together with Lorde during the Melodrama sessions, but now it seems that the claim was deleted simply because it was false.
Just before clarifying his relationship status, Antonoff used Twitter to promote the soundtrack for Love, Simon, which he will be curating. Along with two new songs from Bleachers (one of which is out now), the soundtrack will feature “new music from troye sivan, amy shark, khalid, normani and mø,” and will be released on 3/16. Check out Antonoff’s tweets detailing the soundtrack below.
