It’s not a surprise that Jack White is going on tour. For his previous album, Lazaretto, White was a virtual road warrior, supporting the endeavor for a solid year, including headlining performances at Bonnaroo and Coachella. And already, White has become one of the most ubiquitous names to appear on festival posters. The question wasn’t if White would hit the road, but how hard.
The answer is very hard. With the release of his “bizarre” third LP as a solo artist scheduled for March 23rd, titled Boarding House Reach, White will again tour the world, as he’s offered up a loaded docket that will begin on April 19th in his native Detroit. Aside from festivals, the run will include arenas and amphitheaters, visiting London, Paris, San Francisco, and, finally, Las Vegas. There are some notable absences — Los Angeles and Chicago — which could hint at more festivals to come like Lollapalooza and Arroyo Seco. Or, possibly dates in these markets are still forthcoming.
