Justin Bieber was going to have a difficult time topping his performance at the 2015 MTV VMAs when he broke down in tears, but he certainly tried. Bieber performed “What Do You Mean?” while accompanied by an acoustic guitar, followed by a dance routine during “Where Are Ü Now” and a “rain” soaked, lip-synced rendition of “Sorry.”
Earlier in the evening, Bieber won Collaboration of the Year, his eighth American Music Award, for his song with Diplo and Skrillex, “Where Are Ü Now?”
The 21-year-old pop singer has been on a roll lately, winning people over during a redemption tour in the months leading up to the release of his latest album, Purpose. Although it turns out Bieber didn’t spend much time apologizing. After all, it was a huge success, topping the Billboard 200 Chart with the biggest debut sales week of the year — at least until Adele’s first week numbers are released.
Bieber recently stoked rumors of a possible reunion with his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, when he serenaded her with “My Girl” in a hotel bar. Will he win Gomez back after all? After saying he’ll probably never get over her and admitting to Ellen that many of the songs on Purpose were dedicated to his ex-girlfriend, it’s likely he won’t give up. Keep it locked to for updates.
