A scary and sadly familiar moment happened tonight in Edmonton, when classic rock singer Meatloaf, AKA 68-year-old Michael Lee Aday collapsed on-stage in Edmonton. The singer, famously known for his sweaty and intense anthems, had collapsed on-stage in London in 2003 and passed out on-stage in 2011, then finished the show. Hopefully, this isn’t serious, but it certainly didn’t look good.
You can see the singer slowly fall to the ground in this scary clip.

The incident happened just after 9:30 pm at Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton. You can see that the music almost immediately stops as people rush to his aid. According to BnoNews, Meat Loaf was forced to cancel a show in Calgary due to an illness. His condition is currently unknown and it’s far too early to tell if Meat Loaf’s weakened state came from his aforementioned illness, but the singer’s long history of collapses certainly don’t make this easy to watch. This year we’ve seen a long list of celebrities leave us, with Prince and David Bowie among them. While we don’t want to jump conclusions, it would be horrible to have yet another legendary artist leave us too soon.
Here’s the collapse from a wide angle, seemingly recorded on VHS:
According to the Facebook fan who posted the above video, the arena was evacuated and Meat Loaf was rushed to the hospital. The story will be updated as more information comes available.
We wish Meat Loaf well.
