Migos might be just a few days away from the release of their new album Culture II, the follow-up to last year’s No. 1 album, but it feels like they never left. The trio have remained a constant presence online, whether it’s with new tracks, athletic exploits or their latest round of controversy, Migos always seem to be around. Their No. 1 album and No. 1 song combination from last year launched the group into a whole other stratosphere of stardom in 2017, and there has been increased scrutiny that has come with that, but that still hasn’t slowed their work rate as they’ve continued to release a steady stream of material all year long. Now it’s time to capitalize even more.
So, with Culture II arriving Friday, Offset, Quavo and Takeoff are back with “Superstars,” the latest single from the album and maybe the most promising. Where “Motorsport” with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj has become a hit, “Superstars” is a bit of a return to form for the group as they don’t rely on any features or guest appearances, instead doing all of the heavy lifting themselves, showing off their chemistry and giving each member his time to shine throughout the 5-minute track.
