For some unknown reason, there aren’t enough quality GIFs of Missy Elliott dancing around in a trash bag from back in the day when she was still known as Misdemeanor. And dammit, there should be!
“The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” cemented Elliott’s place on the rap scene thanks to Timbaland’s sick beats, her slow cadence and Pebbles’ sultry hook. Hype Williams took on the hefty task of creating a video that matched the dynamic of the song (and ultimately set a precedent for all future Missy Elliott videos – “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It,” etc.). It’s amazing to think how much of a classic this video is. Now, you can relieve all the bug-eyed, beep-beep moments thanks to our GIF wall. You’re welcome.
