I was initially hesitant to refer to Natalie Imbruglia as being “back.” Maybe she had been releasing two albums a year since her debut, Left of the Middle, sold two million copies in the United States alone. That’s thanks mostly to her hit single “Torn,” which should be annoying after listen No. 652,425. But it’s not. It’s still great. And unlike Aqua, she’s most definitely “back.”
It’s been six years since Imbruglia’s last album, as she’s been focusing more on her acting and X Factor-judging career. In July, though, her musical hiatus will end, as she’s releasing Male, a cover album featuring songs originally written and/or performed by male artists. The first single is “Instant Crush” by Daft Punk and Julian Casablancas. Do French robots lie naked on the floor?
