Neil Young took a break from giving confusing statements about Donald Trump and decided the time was right to return to The Tonight Show. That means Jimmy Fallon got a chance to pull out his Neil Young impression once again.
The last time, the two sang “Old Man” together, but this time things got a little stranger. First off, there’s a bunch of bouncy squirrels all around in the bog, while young Neil and old Neil sing a song together. Then there’s time travel involved, which is pretty cool when you think about it. Neil Young traveling through time, writing space music about his past self and going back to help him solve mysteries. Perfect idea for a TV show.
Fallon’s Neil Young impression is one of the better things he’s got going for him on The Tonight Show, so it’s always a little bit of a treat when he gets the man himself to show up. The only real issue here is Old Neil Young is a bit of a grump. He also apparently doesn’t care much for MP3s, telling his fans to go ahead and steal his latest album from TIDAL if they want it digitally. You have to respect the guy a bit, despite all that Trump stuff.
