MTV’s Catfish may be off the air right now, but that didn’t stop the show’s host Nev Schulman from making waves on the VMAs red carpet. Actually, it was Nev’s fiancé Laura Perlongo who made the fashion statement as the couple walked into the show. The pair announced they were expecting a child together in the spring, and on Sunday Perlongo bared her entire pregnant stomach with an unbuttoned shirt and low-rise pants. It’s definitely a fashion choice that even artists attending and performing don’t generally make – like the most extreme extension of Beyonce’s pregnancy announcement from half a decade ago.
Whether it is simply a question of comfort or whether it’s a way to get there unborn child as exposed to a room full of incredibly talented musicians as soon as physically possible, the fashion statement won’t be forgotten very soon. Since she’s in the same place with multiple maternity wear experts, Perlongo should ask Kim Kardashian or Bey about their favorite looks so that she is fully prepared for the last few months of her pregnancy.
