As we’ve highlighted previously, Noel Gallagher hates just about everything, and isn’t at all shy about letting this be known. Similarly, his Oasis bandmate brother Liam also hates everything, and also isn’t at all shy about letting this be known. It’s as if they’re products of the same DNA or something!
So when news broke over the weekend that Liam was suing Noel for his refusal to apologize for something Noel said that hurt Liam’s feelings, I frankly laughed my butt off picture what these two cartoonish pricks must have been like living under the same roof as children. Jesus Christ, can you imagine?
Anyway, Liam sued Noel in an English court late Friday…
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is suing his brother Noel over his claims the band once cancelled a gig because the singer was hungover.
Noel Gallagher told journalists at a press conference in July that it was the real reason why the band pulled out of the V Festival in 2009.
The official explanation at the time was that Liam Gallagher had laryngitis.
In a statement, he said he had “tried to resolve this amicably but have been left with no choice but legal action”.
“All I want is an apology,” he added.
Yeah. Oh but wait, it gets better.
Noel has broken down and issued an apology, prompting Liam to drop the suit, meaning that all is right with the world.
Liam’s decision comes after Noel issued an apology during an online webchat with fans. He said of his comments: “Unfortunately there is truth in it. But you know, for the record it is a fact that he was diagnosed with laryngitis and it is a fact that he had a doctor’s note to prove it. But I’d just like to say though, if he gets offended by my opinions on such things then you know I apologise but it’s all getting very silly and a little bit out of hand and it’s not very cool.”
Additionally, the Sun reports that the Gallagher boys’ “mum” was quite upset about the whole thing, and that helped to force Noel’s hand.
Too bad the Gallagher brothers didn’t grow up with this Russian guy. He’d have set them straight, I think.
