NSYNC, the king of late-1990s, early-2000s boy bands (Backstreet Boys is the prince; 98 Degrees is the jester in the dungeon), has reunited from time to time following the release of 2001’s Celebrity. There was the overblown MTV Video Music Awards performance, the zombie movie with members of BSB, and I imagine at least Chris Kirkpatrick will show up to the grand opening of Joey Fatone’s hot dog stand in an Orlando mall. The most recent NSYNC get-together was on Monday, when Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Fatone, and Kirkpatrick attended JC Chasez’s 40th birthday party.
Timberlake wrote on Instagram, “JC’s 40th… And, if you don’t know now you know,” a reference to the Notorious B.I.G. classic “Juicy” (it’s probably for the best that JT left out the next word in the song). NSYNC fans shouldn’t get their hopes for a full-blown reunion, though: It was just a birthday celebration (also, you’re old, because the guy who sang “I Want You Back” is 40 years old).
Still, that hasn’t stopped the fanboys and -girls from freaking out.

What do you think the guys got Chasez? A drink ticket for the ’90s-themed bar crawl in Cleveland? A copy of Jersey Shore Shark Attack on DVD? Every last copy of “Some Girls (Dance with Women)” so he can burn them?
I hope it was that last one.
