Watch Paul McCartney Play ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ For The First Time In 50 Years

Paul McCartney started off his One on One tour in Fresno by treating fans to something they hadn’t heard in half a century. Macca played Beatles hits “A Hard Day’s Night” and “Love Me Do” for the first time ever as a solo artist, more than 50 years after he last played them with the Fab Four.

Oddly enough, the last time McCartney played “Night” was also in the Golden State. According to Rolling Stone, the last time that Paul played the tune was all the way back in 1965 in a concert in Daly City, California. “Love Me Do” spent even longer on the shelf, with Paul last playing it live in 1963 at London’s Playhouse Theater.

Paul also dusted off rarely-played tracks from Wings and pre-Beatles act The Quarrymen, sprinkled in a few of his songs from his latest album New and played his collaboration with Kanye West and Rihanna, “FourFiveSeconds.” Sadly, no emoji tunes made the cut.
