Even Paul McCartney can’t resist the allure of Rae Sremmurd. The Cute Beatle shouted out the Black Beatles in a great entry to the Mannequin Challenge this morning. Macca froze and posed by his piano while Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi rapped about being related to him.
“Love those Black Beatles,” he wrote.
McCartney’s the latest mega-star to jump on the challenge, coming in just behind Hillary Clinton and Destiny’s Child. The buzz around the track and its interesting viral spawn was enough to give both the Brothers Sremm and Gucci Mane their first ever Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The brothers celebrated the song’s ubiquity with an incredible live challenge that incorporated the entirety of a Denver crowd.

This nod to the SremmLife 2 rappers isn’t McCartney’s first foray into hip-hop. As a part of having the best post-Beatles career, Sir Paul has worked repeatedly with Kanye West, going so far as to compare Yeezy to the late John Lennon. And who knows? Maybe this will lead to a McCartney feature on SremmLife 3, thus marking the first time that any of Paul’s music has made it into a gym playlist.
