You may recall hearing that actor Michael C. Hall and actress Lena Hall were forming a Hall super team to perform a one-time only Radiohead tribute concert. Well, the event took place Saturday night at the Café Carlyle in New York City, so, if you were hoping to see the dude from Dexter perform Radiohead songs live, well, you’re probably out of luck. However, you still have the opportunity to hear Michael C. Hall singing Radiohead, if you so choose.
Video of the Halls (no relation, what with Lena Hall not being her birth name and all) and their backing band rehearsing for their big night has now made its way to the internet. You can watch the group perform “Ripchord” from Radiohead’s debut album Pablo Honey, as well as a mashup of “Thinking About You” and “High and Dry,” the former also from Pablo Honey and the latter from The Bends, Radiohead’s second album. Michael C. Hall likes to kick it old school, apparently.
While Michael C. Hall is an actor by trade, he’s performed musicals on stage, such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Lazarus, a theatrical adaptation of David Bowie’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, and Hall channeled Bowie in a performance of the title song from Lazarus in a performance on The Late Show. As such, while this does feel like both Halls indulging in their music fandom a bit, they’ve put in the work to earn the right to fool around and sing Radiohead songs if they want.
