What do Talib Kweli, Bernie Sanders, and Stephen Colbert have in common? They all love Run the Jewels, Killer Mike and El-P’s hip-hop supergroup that released one of the best albums of 2013, and of 2014 (and they’re currently working on part three). It doesn’t get much better than, “We killin’ them for freedom cause they tortured us for boredom / And even if some good ones die, f*ck it, the Lord’ll sort ’em.” But that’s nothing compared to:
Go to the crapper, when the poop comes out like liquid
That means you’ve got the flu
So then, what do you do?
You go to the doctor, you get a shot
Actually it’s too late at that point
This is about flu awareness
Gotta be aware of the flu in the airness
What rapper dropped those hot rhymes? Why, that’s MC Haps from Rick and Morty, of course. Run the Jewels has met their match, so it’s no wonder they’re teaming up with the brilliant Adult Swim series for a line of shirts.
According to Daylight Curfew, the Run the Jewels/Rick and Morty collection launches Friday, June 17 at noon EST, with a limited “collection [that] consists of a t-shirt, tank top, and crewneck sweatshirt.” You can RSVP for an advanced link here, because “Run the Marty” (or “Rick the Jewels”) is going to run out quickly. Don’t be a lame Gearhead in a room full of Traflorkians.
