Don’t let the Bad Gal moniker fool you, turns out Rihanna is less Miranda Priestly and more Liz Lemon when it comes to being a boss lady.
In a couple of posts to her illustrious Instagram, the 28-year-old “Needed Me” artist shared all the love she was receiving from her Fenty x Puma team on Boss Appreciation Day.
Though you’d perhaps expect the Grammy award winner turned fashion mogul to find celebrations like this trite or corny, it seems Riri was into it and appreciated the appreciation.
The first image the Rih posted, up above, shows a Rihannaesque piñata complete with striking green eyes and the singer’s famous, intricate hand tattoo. The caption jokingly reads, “when you don’t show up to the office for #BossAppreciationDay #TheCorp #FentyCorp #piñata #FiredThemAll.”
As no office party, not even one thrown for the music industry’s latest Vanguard recipient, is complete without festive decorations, the Fenty team didn’t disappoint, gifting her mylar balloons reading “Boss” and adjoining heart-shaped ones. Rihanna captured the moment with another post to Insta writing, “I love <3my employees!”
Rihanna, was named women’s creative director of the sportswear company in late 2014 and the CEO of Puma, Björn Gulden, insists the title doesn’t just make her a figurehead. He told Vogue she is actually “very dedicated” while Melissa Battifarano, the design director behind the collection, insisted “[Rihanna] pick[s] every single fabric.”
This is all goes to show that no matter how high on the A-list you may be and despite how many iconic songs you continuously release, you’re never too famous or rich for an archetypical office party a la Michael Scott.
