Reddit announced yesterday that it has closed the deal on $50 million worth of funding from some of the biggest names in venture capitalism, among them, none other than the D-O-double-G himself. The rapper’s given name Calvin Broadus Jr. was one of those listed as investors in the social networking site, which basically means Snoop Lion owns Reddit now.
Ok, so the news might not be that surprising. Snoop has already proven his love for the online community by hosting tons of AMA’s under his handle Here_Comes_The_King and by serving as moderator for the site’s marijuana forum. Now it’s all just much more literal. One celebrity on the list that’s a bit more of a head-scratcher: Jared Leto. The Oscar winner is apparently big into tech startups and he’s now providing funding for the social news site. Something tells me a high profile hair care sub Reddit is in our future.
