Yes, this week, Swift passed Kim Kardashian as the most followed person on the popular social media site. She has a whopping 45.5 followers, while poor Kim K. has a sad, pathetic, does-anyone-at-all-actually-care-about-this-person 45.4. One can only assume Kanye West is preparing an epic rant for all of Tay-Tay’s followers that will make them sorely regret their decision. Of course, before Kim K. took the lead recently, Beyonce was the Instagram Queen, but now, she’s a full 4 million below Taylor and Kim, which is probably just making Kanye even angrier.
As this BuzzFeed article points out, Swift’s Instagram army is now larger than the entire population of Canada. To put that in perspective, it likely outweighs the entire fanbases of the Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks combined. Oh, and Sum 41.
Guys, I think we should all stop snarking on Taylor Swift. She will devour us all.
