There are presumably a number of Whys that, if asked in the correct order and of the correct people, will begin to help all of us understand the existence of a subreddit called Thomas the Dank Engine that is filled with hundreds of mashups of classic rap songs and the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song, but honestly, who even cares? Why it’s here and how it came to be couldn’t be less important. What matters is that it’s here and it is incredible. Like, even better than the mashup of crashes from the show set to “Bodies” by Drowning Pool. Yeah.
The Daily Dot has a collection of some of the best mixes, and I really, REALLY encourage you to dig through the pages and pages of them at the original source, but I’ve posted my two favorites here: “Get Low” and “Nuthin’ But a G Thang.” “Get Low” especially is a goddamn revelation. It’s just … it’s perfect. I’ve listened to it like 10 times in a row. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever to be able to stop.
