The number of things U2 and MF Doom have in common just increased to one. Apparently, Bono and Co. also like letting skilled impersonators take the stage every once in a while.
During the Toronto stop of their Innocence + Experience tour, the band invited members of the U2 tribute act Acrobat to take over during “Desire.” Acrobat lead singer Gabrielvox stood in for Bono, while their drummer Michael Wood sat in for Larry Mullen.
This isn’t the first time U2 has brought up a mimic on their current tour. Acrobat’s bassist U2BROTHER played “Mysterious Ways” with the band in Montreal.
All in all, the men of Acrobat seemed pretty excited to get the chance to play with their idols.
Wow – speechless. What a night!
