Andrew W.K. is a musician, motivational speaker, advice columnist and professional partier probably best known for, well, partying. Currently, Andrew is writing a book about partying and is the host of Meet Me at the Reck from Makers Studios, which they describe as a “Sesame Street for the digital generation.” The show premieres this Saturday, October 4th on Maker.tv. From the show’s press release…
A six-part family series, “Meet Me at The Reck” follows Andrew and his band of kids—better known as “reckers,” as they explore what it means to celebrate the importance of using your imagination. With the help of special guests including Jack Black (SCHOOL OF ROCK), Zach Woods (“Silicon Valley,” “The Office”), digital superstar Joseph Garrett aka Stampylonghead, YouTube artist Mary Gutfleisch aka Mary Doodles, comedian Bobby Lee, pro-skateboarder Eric Koston, guitar legend Matt Sweeney and NASA scientist Michael Meacham (“NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory”), Meet Me at The Reck” is an exploration of childhood, and a guide to being a kid in the world of possibilities.
Andrew was nice enough to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule recently to answer a few questions from us.
1. You walk into a bar. What do your order from the bartender?
Buffalo wings, a bacon cheese burger, and a chicken pot pie. I haven’t eaten in 12 hours!
2. Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter?
I can’t pick favorites – there are too many people I love following, and I follow a lot. The computer is a way to party with people non-stop, all around the world, in real time. I love it so much and get so much pleasure out of it.
3. What’s currently waiting for you on your DVR/TiVO?
I wish I had a DVR! That’s a great idea. Maybe I will get one some day and then I would just record everything at once!
4. It’s your last meal — what are you going out with?
The entire array of foods on offer at Golden Corral! I want an all I can eat, endless buffet for my last meal!
5. What websites do you visit on a regular basis?
I search for the word “party” on AOL, Google, WebCrawler, and YouTube, several times a day.
6. What’s the most frequently played song on your iPod?
Probably Bach’s organ Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565. It’s that classic Halloween sounding pipe organ song! I love all his pipe organ work.
7. The first face that comes to mind when you think “punchable”?
My own bloody nose face!
8. What’s your favorite meme?
All the PARTY HARD ones.
9. Dogs or cats?
I like both.
10. Best concert of your life was…?
Which ever one I saw last, besides my own. I think the most recent one I saw was Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Madison Square Garden. That was awesome.
11. What book are you most likely to give as a gift?
I like the 20th Anniversary Garfield Collection by Jim Davis. That’s a great comic strip and a great gift for anyone.
12. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?
Gave birth to me. Thank you, Mom!
13. South Park or Family Guy?
I like them both.

Just party.
15. What movie can you not resist watching if it’s on?
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.

I love McDonald’s a lot, and every meal I’ve ever had there has been perfect to me in every single way. It’s as good as life gets, in my opinion.
18. The last movie you saw in a theater?
I think it was the Amazing Spider-Man 2.
19. Who was your first celebrity crush?
I really liked Jo from The Facts of Life TV show.
20. What would you cook if Nic Cage was coming to your house for dinner?
Plain microwaved cheese nachos.
