It’s been a little more than a year since Weezer released their surprisingly good album Everything Will Be Alright in the End, so it’s time for new music. The group first premiered “Thank God for Girls” in Los Angeles at an iHeartRadio event, and now they’ve released the studio version of the track, along with a visual. Rivers Cuomo posted his excitement about the new song on his Facebook:
The video is pretty nasty, and will have you rethinking cannolis for the rest of your life. No word yet on whether a new Weezer album is on the way, but judging by Rivers’ excitement over the new track and video, along with the closing of the above Facebook post (“p.p.s. more to come very soon!”), I’d expect an album from the group sooner rather than later.
